The goal of the Mount Pearl Tennis Club is to get as may people playing tennis, just for fun. So we aim to create a friendly, sociable experience. To that end, we have a number of programs and opportunities available to members and non-members.
Spring League (June before the season begins)
If you are eager to shake off the rust from the winter, we will be holding a spring pre-season league. The league will take place on Tuesday's at 7 PM starting on June 4th and running until June 25th. The cost for the league will be $5, and club membership is not required. Please contact Thomas Hawkins at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in participating. You can view detailed information about the league in this Google Spreadsheet (2018).
All members can take part in free lessons. Juniors receive 4 lessons per week, while adults receive 2 lessons per week. This is an excellent opportunity to get some exercise, improve your skills and meet some new people! Attendance is not required to every lesson each week. The coaches work on a single stroke or concept each week, so if play is lost due to weather or travel, participants will not fall behind.
Wednesday Night Social Mixer
If you are a beginner or intermediate tennis player, and would like some social match play, our Wednesday night social mixer is for you. This night provides structured match play opportunities with other like minded players, guided by one of our club coaches or volunteers! This is a drop-in and play opportunity, so a commitment is not required for the entire summer. Play will begin during the second week of the season, starting on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 @ 7 PM. Play will continue each Wednesday until the season concludes. You can join at any time. Membership in this social mixer play is included in your club membership. Non-members can play by paying a $5 drop-in fee. If you would like to learn more, you can reach out to Thomas Hawkins at email@example.com
Rangers Doubles League
The Rangers league is our organized intro level doubles league. If you are still a new player, but would like to play regular doubles matches, this is your league. If you cannot play regularly but are still interested, please enter your name on to our sub list. Visit our league information page or contact Dustin Cole at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The fall league is for those who aren't quite ready to hang up the racket for the season just yet. The fall league is open to members and non-members alike.
The league takes place on Tuesday nights at 7 PM (with makeup time of Saturday @ 11 AM). The goal of this league is to provide balanced doubles matches, but in the event of an unequal number of players, we will play singles matches as well. Cost is $5. You can learn more by contacting Thomas Hawkins at email@example.com.
